NOW IN ITUNES PODCASTS FOR FREE! Mud%20OctaveQuantcast Mud%20OctaveQuantcast Mud Octave is Admiral Alex Langston, a Bass player who grew up in Hawaii and has been making music since 2001. After several group projects Alex decided to go solo and started writing music as Mud Octave (2006), creating a new outlet of infinite creativity. He has over 80 songs sprawled across the internet or available on iTunes. All of my recorded songs are basically live, i mean i don't have enough equipment to do the proper layering and things. I think its a sketch-like approach. I guess my songs are more for capturing that particular moment rather than being like a painting on a wall at an art show. I'm not saying I don't try my best in them, i just don't value the whole polished sound when if you see me perform them they won't sound anything like that at all... Photobucket Photobucket I'm tired of the music scene today, its like a bucket of water gone stagnant growin musquitos. It hurts to look at artists and their idealism and fake computer generated recordings. There shouldn't be a cut and paste option when performing art. But that's the thing... most music is no longer art. Its not my place to decide who is and who isn't, all the best painters are emulated, but how long can people listen to the same song over and over? I'm sayin I don't need or want perfection. All my songs are available online free to download, and i assure you they sound better on a cd (due to my lack or normalization of the EQ's).

I can agree that 'm tired of the music scene today if it's on the radio, but my town has a great scene for any age really. The underground flows here. Stagnant is only a choice, or mayba a reality where you live and what you are exposed too. Music is art and real musicians create both without cookie cutter dreams. Live is great- but cutting and pasting to a cd your art and even refinng it to a degree isn't all bad IMO. I think we might agree on the state of the music 'industry' in general and hence...DiscoverOurBand.com.

For the love of music.
